Map Updates

Updates are where you get a newer version of a map you have already purchased.  Please see my upgrades page for trading up to a larger or better map.

My maps are updated whenever I become aware of a change. This is unlike printed maps from other suppliers which can go out of date as soon as they are printed and may be several years out of date when you buy them. I publish updates monthly, around the middle of each month.

If you have downloaded one of the free maps then simply download the same free map again to receive the latest issue.

Check what’s in each monthly update

You can check which maps have been updated each month to see if the changes are relevant for you.

First 6 Months

Cruising Maps

When you buy your maps from us your download links will be set to expire 6 months after your order. The date will be shown on the email with the download links.

You can use the download links at any time during those 6 months and you will download the latest version of the map at the time you download it.

Monthly Issues from 6 months to 4 years

Extract from England & Wales Cruising Map

From 6 months up to 4 years after purchase I give a gradually reducing discount to upgrade to the latest monthly issue. The price is calculated from the number of monthly issues since your purchase, at the rate of 2% of the normal price per month of ownership.

For example, when updating to the 15th monthly issue since purchase, the price to pay will be 30% of the normal purchase price. That’s a 70% discount.

Once you pay for an update the clock starts again with another 6 months of monthly updates included.

Asking for your update

Email & Postage

To obtain your updated map please email your request to info@waterwayroutes.co.uk with enough information for me to identify you original order, for example:-

  • If you purchased mail order:- then your name, address, postcode (and date or order number if possible)
  • If you purchased in person (at a show or from our boat):- then the receipt number.

I will email you a no obligation quotation and a discount code to use if you wish to proceed.

Please note this is a manual process and may take a few days, although it is often the same day.

You can help by checking which maps have been updated each month and only requesting updates when you spot those relevant for you.
